Corporate Responsibility: Sustainable & Fair Trade Fashion
Here at Merchology, one of our goals is to make the world a better place. That means doing what we can to protect the planet and the people that live on it. Staying true to this principle, we have always made a concerted effort to run our business in an ethical and sustainable way. Here are just a few steps we’ve taken as a company toward that goal.
Sustainability
Since our inception, we’ve made strides to incorporate sustainability in every facet of our business from our product offerings to our work in the community. That's why we've put together our Sustainability Collection to serve as alternatives to popular corporate apparel and promotional product selections! We are also thrilled to announce that we have officially switched to a more eco-friendly shipping process by partnering with EcoEnclose and International Paper for 100% recycled and recyclable poly mailer bags and shipping boxes!

We don’t want to take all the credit though, we’ve got some great brand partners that are carrying the banner for sustainable fashion in both clothing and accessories. Drinkware companies like S’well are leading the charge in cutting down the consumption of plastic bottles while Zusa and RuMe actually use plastic bottles to create t-shirts and bags! Check out our Sustainable Products collection for some awesome eco-friendly products that are perfect for your company logo.
1% for the Planet Partnership
In September 2017, Merchology joined Patagonia’s 1% for the Planet program, agreeing to donate 1% of all Patagonia revenue earned to environmental causes. Following this partnership, Merchology expanded its efforts with this program at the time of the Zusa brand launch in 2019. From the start, Zusa has also contributed 1% of its revenue to the 1% for the Planet program. Check out 1% for the Planet to learn how your business can get involved and start making a difference.
Zusa Becomes a Certified Carbon-Neutral Brand

Zusa has officially achieved carbon neutrality and has become a certified Carbon-Neutral brand! This means that every step in the Zusa manufacturing and shipping process is completed in the most eco-friendly manner, and the purchase of carbon credits also contributes to reducing the brand's carbon footprint by offsetting any CO2 emissions through carbon reducing initiatives.
You can learn more about becoming a Carbon-Neutral company by checking out this page, and you can also shop our complete Carbon Neutral Collection, which includes other Carbon-Neutral brands such as MiiR, Cotopaxi, and Karst.
Fair Trade Clothing & Ethical Fashion
While it’s incredibly important to treat the environment responsibly, it’s also crucial to ensure that people are treated fairly as well. We avoid doing business with companies that exploit labor in developing countries at all costs, even if it means paying more. That means no dangerous working conditions, no forced labor, no sweatshops, no child labor, and no unfair wages. Merchology has 3 facilities in the United States, all of which are 100% OSHA compliant workplaces.
In addition to our internal efforts, we also partner with some amazing Fair Trade Certified™ clothing manufacturers like Patagonia and Alternative Apparel. We are proud to partner with brands that share our belief that workers in every country have the right to fair and safe workplace conditions.
Custom Clothing Made Sustainably
Zusa is made from recycled materials and constructed in fabric mills and factories that set the standard in environmentally conscious production practices. The fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world, just behind oil. There is no faster way to reverse this damage than for apparel businesses to make their products differently.
Made in the USA
Did you know that when you order through Merchology 100% of the product customization is done right here in the United States by American citizens? We’ve got a local team of some of the best custom decoration experts in the country specialized in embroidery, screen printing, debossing, heat transfer printing, laser engraving, pad printing, and more.
But our commitment to supporting American-made products doesn’t stop with our internal processes. Our shipping partners, EcoEnclose and International Paper, are also American companies that manufacture their products on United States soil. We also partner with some great apparel and accessory brands that focus on American made products like Carhartt, American Apparel, and Woodchuck USA. Check out our American Made Products collection for more awesome locally manufactured items!
Merchology is a Disability Owned Business
A disability-owned business enterprise (DOBE) is a for-profit business that is at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by a person with a disability regardless of whether or not that business owner employs person(s) with a disability. This definition is provided by Disability:IN is the leading nonprofit resource for business disability inclusion worldwide.
