Embroidered patches are heat-applied decorative patches that provide the look of decorative embroidery. They're built to withstand industrial washes, made from colorfast, durable polyester threads and fabrics. They work well for custom jackets, bags, and more.

If you want decoration that has depth, dimension, and durability, embroidered patches are a great option for you. Embroidered patches are most often applied with heat, but they can also be applied with pressure or be sewn onto garments. The design possibilities are endless with custom dye-cut shapes that come in a range of sizes.

When to Choose Embroidered Patches

Colorful Logos & Designs: Custom embroidered patches are great for colorful designs and logos. Unlike traditional embroidery, embroidered patches allow you to choose up to 15 thread colors without any extra charge! Note that thread options for embroidered patches differ from our standard embroidery thread colors—we match based on the logo provided.

Athletic Team or Seasonal Gear: Embroidered patches allow for easy removal, especially if you opt for Velcro backing. Removable logos are perfect for seasonal staff uniforms, numbers for school athletic gear, and company event gear.

Products Made from Thick Material: Jackets, tote bags, backpacks, duffels, hats, workwear, and other products made from heavier fabrics and materials are a good fit for embroidered patches, as high temperatures/pressure are needed to apply them.

Embroidered Patches Aren't a Good Fit For:

Logos with Small Lettering: Letters within your logo must be a minimum of 4mm tall and 1mm wide.

Logos with Spaces Between Elements: If your logo has spaces between elements larger than 1mm, the patch will be cut to avoid loose threads. The most common solution is to add a background color to your logo go avoid gaps (see photos above).

Thin or Heat-Sensitive Fabrics: Embroidered patches are not recommended for application on some nylons, silk, some plastics, leather, wool, or fleece, which are sensitive to heat. Weather-treated materials are also not recommended as the chemicals applied to the fabric can prevent the patch from adhering properly.
