Marine Layer’s Re-Spun Program
As you can see, Marine Layer practices sustainable manufacturing for their own products. But the company also works to lessen the waste impact of other brands through its ReSpun recycling program. With Re-Spun, you can donate t-shirts from any brand, made of any material, and Marine Layer will find a new use for it. The process is simple:
- Request a recycling kit from the Marine Layer website, or visit one of their stores.
- Donate as many tees as you want, and receive $5 in Marine Layer credit for each one (up to $25).
- Marine Layer breaks down your donated shirts into recycled yarn and gives them a second life as a new product.
Since 2018, the Re-Spun program has kept over 475,000 t-shirts out of landfills, and Marine Layer’s use of Re-Spun cotton has saved 2.6 billion gallons of water. Therefore, when you use Marine Layer for your business’s custom clothing, you are supporting a company that is doing its part in protecting the environment.
Of course, not all shirts are made of materials that Marine Layer can use for their own products. But the company makes sure every donation is put to good use.
